Cable Crimp Terminals Tension Strength Test
There are 2 ways to measure the tension strength of crimped terminals, durability test and break test.
The break test complying with the coresponding part of IEC 60512-16-4: 2008 requires you to determine the maximum force value when the terminal is pulled off. On the other hand, the durability test complying with the coresponding part of JIS C2805: 2010 requires you to pull the crimped terminal continuously at a certain force for 10 seconds, and check the connector part situation after the test.
They are used for R&D and quality control.
Products used:
- ZTS Serie - Standard Model Digital Force Gauge.
- MX2 Serie - Standard Type Vertical Motorized Test Stand.
- FW-12/PW-4 - Rotary Wire Terminal Fixture.
- GP-15/30 - Knurled Cam Grip.
- CB-528 - Force Control Cable (MX2/EMX - ZT connection).
· ZTS series force gauge is recommended in this test.
A dedicated tester ACT-1000N is recommended when testing a large number of crimp terminals to increase efficiency.
